Overview

The Asset Management Department is currently seeking a qualified individual to join their team in a non-permanent term capacity. The successful candidate will work primarily on GIS activities to support the Asset Management team and other City of Lethbridge departments.

STATUS: Non-Permanent Term (up to 4 months; May to August 2026)

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week

PAY RATE: $36.61 per hour


In this role, you will:

  • Provide data and customer support for various Asset Management projects and systems (ArcGIS Pro, Cityworks, Recollect, and CompassCom).
  • Add, edit, and maintain various assets in the GIS.
  • Update the corporate geodatabase through versioning process
  • Create maps for various projects and initiatives using ArcGIS Pro.
  • Liaise with various staff to maintain data integrity.
  • Work with various stakeholders to collect asset information.
  • Assist with configuring GIS layers and schema.
  • Collect asset information in the field using ArcGIS Field Maps and Cityworks inspections.
  • Review information and compile reports.
  • Provide other support to Asset Management team as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of post-secondary education in Engineering/Geomatics Technology or a degree with a focus in GIS; education in a related field may be considered.
  • Prior experience using ESRI GIS products.
  • Experience with technical reporting writing and data analysis.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage time while dealing with competing priorities.

Additional Information:

  • The successful applicant under consideration must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate auto insurance.
