Overview

The City of Lethbridge Recreation and Culture department is accepting applications for up to two (2) Seasonal Term positions of Ice Marshal to work at Cavendish Farms Centre arena (may occasionally be assigned to other locations).

STATUS: Full Time, Seasonal

HOURS OF WORK: 0 – 40 hours per week (day, evening and weekend shift work will be required)

PAY RATE: $29.42 per hour

 

In this role, you will: supervise skaters during public programs, assist the Recreation Operator on duty, perform cleaning and maintenance tasks reporting any problems or difficulties to your supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:

·         Good ice-skating skills with confidence and control to comfortably skate with patrons during busy public sessions

·         Good communication skills

·         Ability to carry out duties based upon oral and/or written instructions

·         Ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision

·         Must have the physical ability to perform manual labour

·         Strong problem solving and decision-making skills - doing the right thing for the situation

·         Experience providing excellent customer service

·         Experience communicating with members of the public with tact and diplomacy

·         Must demonstrate professionalism, respectfulness and courtesy when dealing with the public, user groups and co-workers

·         Preference will be given to candidates who possess valid first aid and CPR certification
