We are seeking an Urban Revitalization Manager to provide effective and strategic leadership for public realm urban revitalization initiatives for the City of Lethbridge. This role is responsible for ensuring that related functions align with and support the City’s corporate strategy, vision, and goals. The Urban Revitalization Manager will implement public realm projects within Lethbridge’s central districts, including the downtown and broader urban core.

In this role, you will:
- Advise and make recommendations to City Council on strategies, priorities, and opportunities related to growth and revitalization within the urban core.
- Lead and support a positive, inclusive team environment that encourages creativity, innovation, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas and diverse perspectives.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of strategic plans that define the City’s approach to meeting urban revitalization goals and priorities.
- Navigate complex municipal issues while building and maintaining strong, influential relationships with City Council, internal departments, external agencies, community organizations, and other orders of government.
- Collaborate with key internal and external partners to ensure priority outcomes are aligned, coordinated, and effectively achieved.
- Build and maintain relationships with developers and investors to encourage development, redevelopment, and long‑term investment in the urban core.
- Act as a key liaison between City administration and partners, providing guidance, information, and recommendations on revitalization initiatives.
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of projects, as well as other statutory and non‑statutory plans impacting the urban core.
- Oversee the administration of grants and incentive programs that support activation, redevelopment, and placemaking in the urban core.
- Apply strategic thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving skills to address complex challenges and deliver responsive, high‑quality public service.
- Contribute to corporate‑wide initiatives and projects where community engagement supports stronger outcomes, particularly those related to growth and urban revitalization.
- Provide management and supervisory oversight for staff supporting the delivery of urban revitalization initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 3-10 years of related experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
- Extensive project management experience (5-10 years).
- Active status as an Engineer, Engineering Technologist, or eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) or the Association of Science & Engineers of Alberta (ASET), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and demonstrated ability to apply PMI best practices to complex projects will be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with hiring and staff development.
- The ability to identify and navigate issues and concerns both within and external the organization, while demonstrating a political acumen.
- Strong leadership skills and the completion of leadership training.
- Ability to navigate confidential information and political sensitivities with diplomacy and appropriateness.

Annual salary range for this position will be $99,567.00 - $124,429.50, commensurate with experience.
