Overview
The City of Lethbridge is currently seeking a highly experienced, customer-oriented individual with strong administrative skills to join our Casual Clerical Pool. Casual clerical employees work in relief capacities across the organization on an as-needed basis to provide coverage for vacations, leaves, and short-term assignments. Hours and assignments are variable and based on operational needs.
Although hours are not guaranteed, our diverse setting provides an excellent opportunity for casual clerical employees to get a broad range of exposure within various fields in municipal government.

STATUS: Part-Time Casual
HOURS OF WORK: 0-37.5 hours per week
PAY RATE: $30.14 per hour
In this role, you will:
- Provide administrative support to City of Lethbridge departments in a variety of capacities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support daily administrative operations, including scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, filing, and records management.
- Assist with assigned projects, meetings, and events.
- Prepare and maintain accurate information using various software systems and databases.
- Provide coverage and continuity of support within assigned work areas.
What You Bring to the Table:
We are looking for an individual who is available to support recurring weekday schedules and provide ongoing operational coverage.
As a successful candidate, you will be able to quickly learn new systems, processes, and priorities while thriving in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. You are dependable, organized, and able to manage changing priorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders are essential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Office Administration diploma or related post-secondary education is strongly preferred.
- Minimum three to five years of experience in an administrative or office environment.
- Demonstrated experience providing senior-level administrative support within a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and confidential information with accuracy and professionalism
- Strong computer proficiency with experience in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with corporate systems, databases, and electronic records.
- Basic accounting and financial transaction experience, including accounts payable/receivable, is considered an asset.
- Experience coordinating meetings, preparing correspondence and documentation, and supporting day-to-day office operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing assignments, priorities, and work environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
