STATUS: Full Time Term – up to 2 years
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week
PAY RATE: $44.49 per hour
In this role, you will: support Lethbridge Land in the following areas:
- Negotiate and prepare sales and lease agreements for the Airport and other City-owned lands, including subdivisions- Lead the creation of marketing campaigns and materials, and manage advertising efforts for land sales and leasing
- Prepare and collaborate on reports and studies related to land projects, and support the creation of various agreements such as drainage agreements, caveats, easements and bylaw changes
- Review Area Structure Plans, Outline Plans, Comprehensive Plans and amendments, and report findings
- Work collaboratively with other City departments — including the Airport, Planning and Design, Transportation and Legal Services — on leasing and land matters
- Provide support to the Land Development Strategists and the Land Investment and Development Manager, including on communications and land campaigns
- Manage the Lethbridge Land inbox and phone line
- Work directly with Finance to ensure transaction documentation, journal entries and Purchase Orders are accurate, and collaborate on proformas and cash flow projections
- Create letters and reports for various purposes, and review and edit the work of self and others
What You Bring to the Table
Qualifications & Experience:
· A 2-year college diploma in marketing, finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline, and demonstrated experience in sales, marketing or leasing
· Knowledge of the City of Lethbridge's Real Estate Holdings
· Knowledge of negotiation of sales and leases
· Knowledge of sale procedures and/or marketing of property for sale and for lease
· Knowledge of other developers in the City and the subdivisions they represent
· Ability to research queries such as easements, encroachments, caveats and land titles
· Working knowledge of record management, and familiarity with accounting systems
· Experience with legal descriptions and terminology related to land
· Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, and analyse, create and explain a wide range of complex mathematical calculations and work with spreadsheets
· Ability to work under pressure of deadlines, frequent interruptions and changing priorities
· Strong communication skills and experience dealing with professionals and the general public, with tact and diplomacy
· Strong computer-related and writing skills
