The City of Lethbridge Recreation & Culture department is accepting applications for up to four (4) seasonal term positions of Ice Marshall to work at various City of Lethbridge arenas.

STATUS: Seasonal

HOURS OF WORK: 0-40 hours per week; day, evening, and weekend shift work required

POSITIONS: up to 4 positions available

PAY RATE: $29.42 per hour

In this role, you will:

• Supervise skaters during programs.
• Perform cleaning duties within the arena.
• Report concerns or problems to the supervisor.
• Assist the Recreation Operator on duty as required.

We are looking for a team member who demonstrates professionalism and is committed to providing exemplary public service.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to skate.
• Physically capable of performing manual labour including the set up and removal of hockey nets.
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess a valid first aid and CPR certification.
• Knowledge of applicable ice rules and regulations.
• Good communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with the public.
• Ability to carry out duties based on oral and/or written instructions.
• Ability to work on a team or independently with minimal direction.
• Class 5 driver’s license is required.

An unacceptable driving record includes, but is not limited to:

• A record of any suspension of Operator’s License within the preceding three years which is related to a driving offence.
• An overall driving history that reflects poor driving behavior, will be determined at the discretion of the City.
• Within the preceding three years any Criminal Code or Provincial driving conviction including:

1. Impaired Driving related offence
2. Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
3. Criminal Flight from a Peace Officer
4. Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident
5. Drive while Disqualified/Prohibited
6. Careless Driving
