Reporting to the General Manager, this critical role will coordinate the delivery of community funding programs, funding agreements, and community investment initiatives that support positive outcomes for residents. Working with community organizations, government partners, and internal stakeholders, the position helps ensure public resources are administered responsibly, programs remain responsive to community needs, and investments deliver meaningful impact across our community.

STATUS: Full-Time Permanent (subject to continued external funding)
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week
PAY RATE: $53.91 per hour (rate under review)
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate community-based grant programs and funding agreements delivered through the Community Social Development (CSD) department including City-funded programs such as the Fee Assistance Program (FAP), Community Event Support Grant (CESG), and Community Capital Projects Grant (CCPG), as well as programs and initiatives supported through federal and provincial funding agreements including Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), Low Income Transit Program (LITP), Needle Debris Mitigation Grant (NDMG), Reaching Home (RH), and other funding initiatives assigned to the department.
- Provide operational leadership for the Community Programs Team.
- Coordinate day-to-day program administration, funding agreement management, community investment processes, compliance monitoring, performance evaluation activities, and stakeholder engagement.
- Work closely with community organizations, government funders, and internal City departments to support positive community outcomes while ensuring alignment with program requirements, funding agreements, and City policies.
- Provide leadership through work coordination, coaching, employee support, workflow management, performance feedback, and operational oversight.
- Work collaboratively with management on strategic, financial, labour relations, and employee matters.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A post-secondary degree in Social Sciences, Public or Business Administration, Community Development, Public Policy, Management, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating community programs, funding agreements, grant programs, service delivery initiatives, or community investment programs.
- Experience providing operational leadership, work coordination, coaching, and support to staff or project teams.
- Familiarity with municipal, provincial, and federal funding programs, public sector accountability requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working collaboratively with community organizations, government partners, advisory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Experience monitoring program performance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and implementing administrative or operational processes.
- Strong relationship-building, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, presentations, briefing materials, and correspondence.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, funding agreements, and program guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, guidance, and operational support to employees and community partners.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience using records management, reporting, data tracking, and program administration systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other business applications.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
This is a grant funded position and is subject to the continued receipt of funding from other orders of government.
