The City of Lethbridge is currently looking to expand their Food and Beverage Operations Team at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena. This position will be responsible for the overall operation of a concession during events that will include staff supervision and training, customer service, cash handling, and concession inventory management. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring that concession staff follow all Alberta Liquor and Gaming Commission (AGLC), Alberta Health Services (AHS), and venue protocols.

STATUS: Casual

POSITIONS: Up to 2 positions available

HOURS OF WORK: 0-40 hours per week; evening, weekend, and shiftwork required

PAY RATE: $32.43 per hour

 

In this role, you will:

  • Open and close a concession outlet for events at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
  • Oversee concession inventory management including pre/post event counts, balancing counts, tracking wastage, monitoring food levels during the event, completing the post event needs list for restocking and assisting with month-end inventory.
  • Supervise and train concession staff on duties such as food and beverage service, food preparation, customer service, and alcohol service.
  • Manage cash handling duties including assisting staff with POS transactions, processing refunds/discounts, processing and batching out card transactions and providing float and change for staff tills.
  • Ensure concession staff are following all regulated rules around health and safety, AGLC, AHS, and venue specific protocols.
  • Ensure the concession is clean and maintained to health and safety standards before, during, and after each event.
  • Report any maintenance/equipment issues to the Warehouse Inventory Supervisor.
  • Ensure the concession is providing the best possible customer service to patrons including providing information and dealing with customer concerns when required.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • First Aid Certificate required.
  • AGLC Proserve Certificate required.
  • Valid AHS Food Handlers certificate required.
  • Knowledge of AGLC and AHS rules and regulations related to food and beverage operations.
  • Previous experience working in a Food and Beverage environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of POS systems.
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with staff and patrons.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
